Unjury protein shakes are a good quality protein that is perfect for weight loss surgery patients.
I love Unjury protein. Unjury is the first protein powder I sampled when I started in bariatrics in 2007. I don’t just love Unjury because it’s creator Martha is a Registered Dietitian. I love Unjury protein because it provides high quality protein and tastes great. It’s no secret that I don’t love many protein powders. You won’t see me review many protein supplements here, because I will only recommend what I like.
Unjury comes in six varieties: Chocolate Splendor, Chocolate Classic, Vanilla, Strawberry Sorbet, Unflavored and Chicken Broth. They also carry a cheese sauce. My favorites are the chocolate splendor and strawberry. I do doctor both up though. I love to add peanut butter to the chocolate and crystal light lemonade to the strawberry. I make the chocolate peanut butter shake in my Vitamix with ice, so it’s nice and cold and resembles a real frozen milkshake.
Unjury mixes very well. I usually just use a blender bottle. I have tried the strawberry sorbet and crystal light lemonade mixture in my Vitamix, but I thought it was too foamy. So, I stick with the blender bottle. We keep the unflavored, chocolate, and strawberry in our house. I kept telling my husband about the strawberry. Big mistake! My hubby enjoyed the strawberry sorbet so much he finished my container!
Unjury is fairly inexpensive compared to other protein powders. One container that supplies 17 servings sells for $22.95. It is available only online, which may be an issue for some who do not shop online. Unjury ships fast. I usually get my orders within two days.
Another reason I love Unjury is that they have samples available. Many protein companies don’t have samples available. Samples are a great way to taste test proteins before you invest in a large quantity. I encourage my patients to get as many samples as they can. Unjury’s samples are also pretty reasonable at $1.99 per packet.
