Often I have patients asking me about alternatives to protein powders. Protein shakes are a great way to meet protein needs, but I know they don't all taste great. There are many other foods that can give you the extra protein you need and they taste better too. If you can handle dairy products you can use milk and/or yogurt as a protein source. Cow's milk or soy milk are great sources of protein, but almond milk is not. I like to add fruit to my smoothie base of yogurt and milk. There are many fruit combinations, so choose which ever fruit you like. I prefer to use frozen fruit. This makes the smoothie colder and thicker.

I will make this but want to know if I can use a protein shake blended with greek yogurt and fruits instead of milk
Jennifer Pullman says
In general, you can use greek yogurt and fruit instead of milk, but you do want to check with your surgeon to make sure this is ok with them. The calorie content may be higher with different ingredients.

I don't see the nutritional facts on this smoothie. I substituted the skim milk with my vanilla protein.
