Weight loss surgery gives you the benefit of having restriction surgically created. This restriction will vary the further out from surgery you get. You will find that you can eat more food. Portion control tools may be helpful to keep you on track or get you back on track. Here are 15 portion control tools for weight loss surgery patients that I love.
15 Portion Control Tools
Beverages
Precise Portions makes the only portion control glasses that I have found.
Plates
Many portion control plates can look like kids plates. Precise Portions has really nice plates that look like grown-up plates.
Bowls
As you can see above Precise Portions carries a bowl to match their plates that are really nice. The Portion Perfect bowl has measurements from ¼ cup to 1 ½ cups. Not as stylish as the Precise Portions, but functional nonetheless.
Flatware
I don't regularly recommend that patients change their flatware, however, when someone is struggling with portion control and/or eating too fast I do suggest using smaller utensils. Kids flatware is a great option, but most adults won't want to eat with a fork that looks like it belongs to a 3-year-old. There are two different sets of flatware available for bariatric patients: Stainless Steel Kids Flatware and the Health Fx Mindful Eating Portion Control Flatware.

Kitchen Utensils/Appliances
You can, of course, portion out your food before you place your meal on the plate. Food scales, measuring cups, measuring spoons, measuring rings, and serving spoons can be extremely helpful.
Collapsible Measuring Cups and Spoons
Portion Mate Portion Control Rings
Portion Control Containers
Obviously, all the tools I have shown you so far are helpful when you are eating at home, but what if you need to back your meals? Luckily there are tons of options.
Fit & Fresh Meal Prep Commuter Bag
Fit & Fresh Stak Pak Portion Control Containers
Portion Perfect Meal Prep Containers
Glass Portion Control Containers

I love your blog. You address things that are so important to all of us who have had this surgery. I know the number one thing for me is measuring everything. Never eat out of the box of anything. If you gain some weight back. Just go back to presurgery diet for a quick loss. Merry Christmas ?

The ricotta baked recipe is so delicious and really gave me the best parts of baked lasagna that I missed so much. I shared the recipe with a friend who has not had Bariatric surgery and she loved it too!
